For One Crust:
Filling:
Heat brown sugar and water to boiling-point. Pour over sifted flour, corn starch and white sugar and cook until thick. Add slightly-beaten egg yolks and cook 1 minute longer. Remove from fire; add butter, salt and vanilla and let cool. Pour into baked crust and cover with meringue made by beating 2 egg whites until frothy, adding 1/4 tsp. baking powder and beating until stiff, then folding in 4 Tbsp. sugar. Put in hot oven or under broiler to brown.
