More Balboa PTA Recipes From the '60s
Hot Dogs with Coney Island Sauce
- 1/2 lb. ground beef
- 1 clove garlic (minced)
- 3 Tbsp. pimento (minced)
- 6 Tbsp. water (about)
- 1 small onion (chopped)
- 1/2 tsp. monosodium glutamate
- 1 can tomato sauce
- 1 tsp. chili powder
- salt and pepper
- 12 toasted buns
- 12 hot dogs (broiled)
Brown beef slowly, breaking up with fork until crumbly. Add remaining ingredients. Simmer 10 minutes until thickened. Spoon over hot dogs in buns. Serve with baked beans, relishes, carrot and celery sticks, cup cakes and frosty lemonade.
