More Balboa PTA Recipes From the '60s
Pepper Steak
- 2 lbs. flank steak (cubed or 2-inch strips)
- 1 medium onion (chopped)
- 1 Tbsp. fat
- Salt and pepper
- 1 cup water
- 1 tsp. Gravy Master
- Water as needed
- 3 medium green peppers [chopped]
- 1 small can water chestnuts
- 1 small can mushrooms sliced
- 1 tsp. flour paste
Brown meat in fat with salt and pepper. Add onion and brown. Add water and Gravy Master. Cover. Simmer until almost done. Add peppers, chestnuts, mushrooms, and enough water to make gravy. Add flour paste. Serve with fluffy rice.
