This recipe is printed on a card from the California Beef Council. I found it in my mom's recipe box.
Combine onion soup mix, lightly beaten egg, bread crumbs and milk. Let stand 5 minutes. Mix in beef with fork. Shape beef in oiled ring mold, then turn out onto shallow baking pan. Brush with mixture of catsup, brown sugar and mustard. Bake in hot oven (400°F) 40 minutes, brushing once or twice with catsup mixture. Remove from oven and arrange sliced cheese over loaf. Bake about 5 minutes longer, until cheese melts. Slide onto serving plate. If desired, fill center with noodles. Makes about 6 servings.
