Beef Teriyaki

This recipe is printed on a card from the California Beef Council. I found it in my mom's recipe box.

Place steak in shallow pan. Combine crushed garlic with onion, wine, soy sauce, catsup, and 1 Tbsp. EACH chopped preserved ginger and syrup from ginger. Pour over beef turning to coat both sides. Let stand several hours or overnight turning occasionally. Drain. Broil steak about 5 minutes on each side or to desired degree of doneness. Cut into thin diagonal slices across grain of beef. Makes about 6 servings.
