Bloom color: Flowers open purple, quickly changing to lavender then white ("Yesterday" = purple, "Today" = lavender, "Tomorrow" = white).
Bloom time: Starts blooming in early spring and continues sporadically through summer.
Scent: Strong sweet scent that carries several feet away.
Sun/shade: Partial shade; planted on the north side of the house where it gets bright shade in winter and morning sun only the rest of the year.
Moisture: Regular water
Pruning: Prune to shape and deadhead
Problems: None yet
Purchased: About 1998.
Planted: After spending the first few years in a large wooden pot (it does well in a pot), we finally planted it in the ground in early fall, 2002.
Conditions: Well amended, moist clay soil. Supposedly our soil is alkaline so we added cottonseed meal (an organic acidifier) to the soil at planting time; the plant has shown no sign of alkalinity problems and has responded extremely well in its new spot.
Other comments: Very slow growing. Profuse bloomer; plant is literally covered with blooms starting in early spring.
