Other comments: The dense basal foliage forms a tight mat on which skinny stems support very pretty lavender bell-shaped flowers. Since the bloom is heaviest in spring, I shear off the stems in about early summer (or when most of the blooms have faded and turn brownish) and the plant reblooms starting a few weeks after that. Other than that, it is very care-free in our garden. It is easily propagated through division, and it also self-sows a little nearby but this is a welcome surprise. The lavender color of the blooms is very pretty and glows at dusk.
