Sun/shade: Part shade, protect from all-day hot sun.
Moisture: Moderate to regular water; tolerates drought.
Problems: Lower plant tends to turn woody, but this is usually well-hidden by the foliage.
Purchased: About 1999, but I can't remember where.
Planted: Soon after purchase, about 1999.
Conditions: Growing in a pot in a protected western exposure with part sun in afternoon only.
Other comments: I think it looks best as a potted plant because the pot adds height and the foliage is mounding and trails over the sides of the pot. Beautiful coloration on leaves, and the flowers are very bright orange (usually described as "bright coral"). For contrast, combine with plants that have dark green, non-variegated foliage and bloom in purple, violet or blue. For a hot color combo, combine with red and yellow.
