Conditions: Planted in full sun in well-amended clay soil.
Other comments: Very pretty purple blooms cover the plant most of the year; they are best viewed up close, so I planted it at the edge of the patio. It is very similar to and often confused with Salvia muelleri (Royal Purple Sage); however S. muelleri has a much wider spread and the blooms are more violet than purple. The plant would look good in a large container or at the edge of a low wall where the lax stems could trail over the edge.
