This is Jim in October 2001, shoveling the rest of the huge pile of mulch into a wheelbarrel to haul it to the backyard. See the other shovel in the pile? That's the one I used to help Jim do the manly-man job.
Here's Jim later that month, being pulled around the backyard by a giant rototiller, tilling in that huge pile of mulch. He's preparing to sow a new lawn.
This is the gate Jim built, and the path he made leading up to it. Isn't it beautiful? I helped him place the posts in cement... this gate won't budge even in a tornado. Oh, and notice the nice new lawn, thanks to that giant rototiller and the huge pile of mulch! Now we just need a few more plants to fill in the empty spaces.
