Jim's Vegetable Gardens ~ 2002

A wheelbarrow full of tomatoes

The tomato plants were very prolific this year. Jim planted Romas, 'Celebrity', 'Early Girl', a cherry.... We enjoyed homemade salsa all summer long! We found NO tomato hornworms, possibly because the birds may have found whatever there were of them. We have lots of birds in our yard because we never use pesticides or herbicides.

Tomato and corn plants

The corn and tomato plants are just getting started.

Bush beans, peas and scallions

Along the retaining wall he planted scallions, bush beans and peas. We didn't pick the peas early enough so they weren't very flavorful by the time we ate them. Eric helped Grandpa plant the scallions.
